How to Choose an Affiliate Marketing Niche That Will Pay Off

Before you pour your precious time and money into an affiiate marketing niche, you must look into these three factors.

Factor Number One: How much competition is there within the niche? A simple way to find out how much competition there is works like this: search for the keyword phrase (don’t put quotes around it) on google and write down the number of results that come up. If your google results number is anywhere under 20,000, you should consider that niche a winner; anything with over 80,000 results has too mich competition for a newbie to consider. You want to find the niches that have not yet been flooded to the max. Experiment with multiple keyword searches to determine what those rare, valuable niches are.


Factor Number Two: Do any of the offers related to your winning keyword phrase convert well? Once you’ve chosen a few niches that seem to have enough elbow room for newcomers, research the offers available through affiliate marketing managers to see if you can afford any of the offers that convert well. This may feel time-consuming, but you don’t want to dump your time and money into offers that won’t convert.

Factor Number Three: As you estimate costs, factor in how much you paid for your website development, domain name, hosting, and copywriting. It’s important that the numbers will work, but you need to make a long range expense plan since business does not pay off right away.

If you’re having trouble finding an affiliate marketing niche that is both converting well, pays enough, and isn’t too saturated, you may have to switch up your marketing strategy to one that doesn’t involve search engine rankings. Some good examples of marketing strategies that have worked for other affiliate site marketers are forum participation, email campaigns, and using a polling site.

You will be able to draw scores of new customers you way when you run a contest in this manner, and the only money you will need to spend on this form of advertising is the loss of a small amount of your inventory or time – which is a tradeoff that is definitely well worth it!
